Custom-fit vs universal windshield sunshades: what's the difference?

Universal windshield sunshades are sold in a few sizes, usually small, medium and large, and you pick the closest one. A custom-fit sunshade is cut for one vehicle's windshield and listed by make, model and year.

Coverage

A universal shade rarely matches the outline of your glass, so it leaves gaps at the corners or folds where it is too big. A custom-fit shade follows the edge of the windshield.

The mirror and the visors

AutoFitPro windshield sunshades are cut with a notch around the rearview mirror so the shade sits flat behind the sun visors.

Choosing by model year

Because the shade is cut for one windshield, the model year matters: a new generation of the same model often has a different windshield. Each AutoFitPro vehicle page covers one model generation and lists every part cut for it. Sunshades by vehicle.

Materials and storage

AutoFitPro sunshades are reflective polyethylene with sewn nylon edge binding, cut and sewn in the USA from imported materials. Windshield shades roll up and are held closed with the included Velcro strap. Front and rear side window shades press into the window frame, with no suction cups, and are for use only while the vehicle is parked.
