Fit & compatibility

Does the topper fit both Gen 1 and Gen 2 Rivian R1T?
Yes. A single SKU fits all R1T 2022-present trucks, Gen 1 and Gen 2.

Does the topper block the Rivian bed-view camera?
No. We cut a 2″×1″ window with an acrylic cover directly above the bed camera so the factory bed-view camera still works looking into the topper. This cutout is standard on every production unit.

Can I still use my stock Rivian tonneau cover with the topper installed?
Not with the stock hardware — the mounting points conflict. An adapter bracket path is in development. If you need tonneau functionality, email us before ordering and we’ll flag your unit.

Can I mount the Rivian factory crossbars on top of the topper?
Not yet. The current topper ships with its own fixed roof rails rated to 450 lb static / 720 lb dynamic. Factory crossbar compatibility is planned for a future revision.

Can I access the gear tunnel with the topper installed?
Yes. We cut precision clearances for both the gear tunnel access and the trunk-release button. You will need to open the topper side door first to reach the button.

Dimensions & capacity

How much does the topper weigh?
85 kg / 187 lbs installed. Shipping weight (boxed) is 115 kg / 254 lbs.

What’s the interior height and rear opening height?
Interior height inside the bed: 36″. Rear opening (from the bed floor to the bottom of the rear window): 34″.

What’s the roof load rating?
450 lbs static, 720 lbs dynamic. You can walk on it, strap a rooftop tent to it, or mount a rack platform.

How many keys and locks?
10 keyed-alike locks — all 10 locks open with the same key.

Installation & removal

How long does installation take?
Assembly of the 5 pre-cut aluminum panels takes about 4 hours and can be done by one person. Installing the assembled topper onto the truck takes about 1.5 hours and is typically done with two people (the assembled topper weighs 187 lbs).

Can one person install it alone?
Assembly: yes. Lifting the finished topper onto the truck: most buyers use two people, but at least one first-batch customer (Travels with Hyper on the Rivian Owners Forum, May 3, 2025) solo-installed his using a pair of telescoping stands. Two people is still the recommendation for safety.

Is it removable?
Yes. Four bolts at the bed tie-downs attach the topper to the truck. Remove the bolts, lift the topper off (two people required). We ship both eyebolts and standard bolts so you can preserve your tie-down functionality when the topper is off.

Is it watertight?
Yes. Rubber weather seal around the entire base, pre-sealed joint lines, and a rubber gasket around the rear door. Tested in pressure washes and heavy rain with no leakage. First-batch buyer DayTripping reported after a heavy-rain test: “Only a little bit of water on the bed rug. I could have slept in there and been pretty much dry.”

Does it rattle or make wind noise at highway speeds?
No. Multiple first-batch customers have confirmed zero wind noise, no buffeting, and no stability issues at 80+ mph. DayTripping, a meticulous owner on the Rivian Owners Forum, tested in heavy crosswinds (17–40 mph gusts) and sustained 80+ mph cruising and reported “The topper was rock solid at all speeds I ran up to… Basically I can’t tell the topper is there.” He measured cabin noise at 66 dB at 90 mph — essentially unchanged from the truck without the topper. No whistling or howling from the roof rails.

Range & efficiency

How much range will I lose on my Rivian R1T?
Essentially zero. In May 2025, forum user DayTripping logged real-world mi/kWh numbers on his 2022 R1T with and without the AutoFitPro topper using the Electrafi tracker. Same truck, same Goodyear all-terrain tires, same driving style:

• Without topper: 2.45 mi/kWh
• With AutoFitPro topper: 2.59 mi/kWh — actually slightly better with the topper installed

His summary: “It looks like the topper might be helping the efficiency. It is too early to draw that conclusion, but I almost never know it is there while driving the truck.” Multiple other first-batch owners (Tucker74, Travels with Hyper, DanielOBenson) independently reported no noticeable range hit. We estimate the real-world range impact at under 5% in worst-case conditions.

Appearance & options

What color is the topper?
Black anodized aluminum alloy. Black only.

Is the rear window tinted?
The three side/rear windows are tinted by default. The cab-facing window can be ordered clear so you preserve rear visibility through the truck’s rear window. Non-tinted options are available on request — email us before ordering.

What add-ons are available?

• Sliding glass windows on the side doors (+$130)
• 10″ deep internal storage boxes (left or right, +$220 each)
• Three side-door configurations: Mounting Slot Type 1, Mounting Slot Type 2, or Fully Enclosed

Pricing & ordering

What’s the total price?
$2,100 all-in — includes the topper, all hardware, ocean freight from the factory, customs clearance, and door-to-door delivery in the continental US.

How does payment work?
Two-stage checkout. A $600 deposit reserves your spot in the next production run. The $1,500 final payment is charged only once your unit is built and ready to ship.

What’s the lead time?
Approximately 3 months total: about 1 month of manufacturing plus about 2 months of ocean freight. We’ll send you the vessel number once the container is on its way, and we’ll notify you when your unit is in US customs clearance.

Shipping & delivery

How is it delivered?
Oversized freight, door-to-door, curbside drop-off. You will need help unloading (187 lbs boxed). We’ll send you a 7-day-out tracking link once the unit is in local delivery.

What if something goes wrong?
We’re a small-batch brand and we handle every issue directly with the founder. If your crate arrives damaged, a part is missing, or something fails after install — email autofitpro@gmail.com with your order number and photos, and we’ll work with you to make it right.
